How consent works
AI Sidekick is made for children aged 4 to 12, so a parent or guardian is always the one who says yes. This page explains what you are asked, in plain words. It matches what the app shows on screen. The full legal text is in the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use.
When you are asked
When you create a family account, the app shows three separate switches. All three must be on before a child profile can be used. If the privacy policy changes in a significant way, the app asks you again before your child can continue; choosing "Not now" signs you out.
The three consents
Choices that are off until you turn them on
- Photos. No camera button and no camera permission request until you switch on "Show the sidekick photos" in the parent settings. A photo is passed once to the AI to answer that one question and is not saved by us.
- Cloned voice. Optional. If you record a voice sample, it is sent to ElevenLabs to make a voice model. We do not keep the sample, and the model stays there until you delete the voice or the account.
Guest mode
Without an account, a grown-up confirms they are an adult and then anyone can chat. Nothing is saved to our database and the conversation is dropped from memory within an hour. Messages still go to our AI provider to produce replies.
Changing your mind
- Photos: switch them off again in the parent settings at any time.
- One child: delete the child profile in the app. That removes their messages, notes, stories, alerts and any cloned voice made for them.
- Everything: Settings, then Delete account. It is immediate. If you cannot open the app, email [email protected] from your registered address. Steps are on the delete account page.
- The three main consents: they are required for a family account, so they cannot be switched off one by one while your child keeps using it. Withdrawing means deleting the profile or account, or emailing us to refuse further collection.
Backups are deleted within seven days, and the AI provider may hold data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, as the Privacy Policy explains. Questions go to [email protected].
